INFOSAT, the outdoor Wi-Fi leader reveals its new 'Optixtend'
offer. This new device can be connected on to any urban,
regional or local optical infrastructure. The connection
is established by a simple welding on the monomode
(non-activated) black optical fibre. The plug-ins are
fixed along a monomode optical fibre and allow
equipping the area with Wi-Fi broadband along that
same fibre.
This is the perfect solution for a city or region to
be Wi-Fi covered. It is an Internet and telephone
bundle solution at a much lower cost compared to
copper network cabling.
The frequency bands that can be used are
within a range of 700 MHz to 6 GHz, in accordance
with Wi-Fi standards and following the principle
of sustainable development with an electric
consumption under 15 Watts per site. The energy
source can come from a street lamp, solar panels or
even the supply of a cable network.
This is an essential low cost solution that suits
unbundled ADSL services.
It guarantees not only a bundle service but enables
digital nomadism at a low price, using for instance
Gphones (Google Phone) and Iphones (Apple) and
providing nomad users with a broadband connection.
